A long-lost 16th-century windowpane once believed to have been engraved by Mary Queen of Scots has been discovered at the back of cupboard in Belper, writes Charles Hanson

Well, Belper residents, prepare for a bit of history to be unearthed right here in our town! A truly remarkable 16th-century windowpane, with a fascinating royal connection, has been found tucked away in a local cupboard. It's believed this very piece might even have been engraved by Mary Queen of Scots herself!
